We were taught to be quiet when we were children, to listen. Somehow the world worked to change us.
As an adult, I had to go back and find myself and reclaim that identity. I learned to be quiet again, to understand the power of silence and stillness again.
A crow watches the birds at the feeder from his spot in the pine. Crow flies out and tries to join them but he upset the balance at the feeder and they fly off. He went back to the pine and watched for a little while longer before he flew up to it again. He hung on as the feeder tilted and twirled.
Crow managed to free the entire suet cake. He flew off with it, happily, I imagine. The remaining birds flew over to the other feeder just as content.
This afternoon a Coyote appeared in the field. I had been thinking of Coyote this morning as I have not heard their call lately. Naturally, I was happy to see Coyote.
I watched as Coyote appeared to be tracking something. Quick, agile and focused, Coyote sniffed the earth and air. I understood there was a message related to his appearance as well as Crows.
Perhaps the message is a reminder for me to remember how to rely on instinct. A reminder to believe in our ability to figure things out as we go without worry.
A good omen to remember that we don’t have to worry, we will be provided with what we need when we set out to find it.
The sun sets on the present day and the sun rises with a new day. New opportunities await, every day a gift.
