It is still a bit cold here, the weather is rainy. We are having true spring weather. Soon though, it will be warm. The buds on the trees have appeared and they are starting to open.

There is so much beauty in the natural world. I feel lucky that I can experience the beauty of nature. I love the mountains and the outdoors but I work in the city. I feel grateful for my work and the opportunities that I have to be creative as well as to help others.

My administrators are wonderful people, kind and supportive. I’ve gone to so many amazing seminars and PD’s because of them. The enrichment and learning opportunities have been tremendous and I am grateful for that. They have supported my growth and learning.

We live in a busy city which at times can be overwhelming because of all of the people you come into contact with during the day. There is a lot of activity. But, I am grateful for all of it.

The last few months I have been busy with work and learning. I closed out my gym membership because it seemed to be one more activity that was time consuming (it can take an hour and a half to drive seven miles here).

My favorite place is by the water and out in nature. I enjoy quiet. So instead of the gym, I prioritized time outdoors. In order to stay healthy, I have had to change the way I view my health and fitness.

This month I started to log my activity and food. This has worked for me in the past because I become more conscious of good health and fitness when I write things down.

Instead of the gym, I started taking longer walks with my dog and working out at home. I am on my feet at work and get steps in there too. I have a pedometer on my phone and typically clock 3-5 miles a day. I cook dinner at home and have breakfast at home.

I cook at home because I eat healthier when I cook at home. At work I will have a protein bar, some fruit or water during the day. It’s hard to get healthy food for lunch here unless you spend $35 or $40 for take out.

A lot of the time when people focus on fitness, they focus on diet and exercise but they forget about their mind and spiritual fitness. Although I have strong spiritual beliefs, I still have to focus on improving my spiritual fitness.

There is so much to learn in this lifetime. So in addition to time outdoors, I read more, listen to meditations and share thoughts and ideas with others in order to deepen my connection to spirit. Who we spend time with is also important. What kind of thoughts do they carry. I have been conscious to spend time with people who are kind.

Mind, body, spirit, emotion are all connected. Take care of yourself, rest, eat healthy, speak healthy, be in healthy environments and around people who are uplifting. Life is a gift that I am grateful for. Working on improving myself is a way to say thank you to creator for this life. We got this❤️
