The rabbits were out in full force. They are not afraid. They stand still in the grass as dog and I walk along the path. I leave some strawberries in the treeline for them.

Three of the babies were out today. Running, chasing each other in the grass. They find shelter under the pines and dodge in and out. They are happily bouncing around. White tails signaling retreat as they run from each other.

As I watch them, I think of my Dad. He and his brothers would hunt rabbits and deer for food growing up. A generation removed and I have the luxury of a full belly. I can watch the rabbits at play. He paved the path on which I walk.

Everything on the earth is rich and green. The apples are budding on trees. A doe wanders under one of the trees looking upward in hopeful anticipation.

It is quiet in the morning and dog and I walk along the waters edge. The sound of water rolling in and hitting against the shore, the ravens calling, the birds calling to each other. The natural world is medicine.
