The words we speak hold great power. They can help others in difficult times or bring them down through harsh judgements. Through all of our experiences the energy of our words and those of others will impact us. Words have great energy, they are powerful.
Imagine if we only choose words that help and heal. Imagine if in difficult times we sought to heal a situation rather than to blame or shame. No one chooses to be in a difficult situation. They happen by circumstance, chance or poor decision making.
Words have the power to heal. They have the power to reconcile and uplift. If we choose them wisely, they can build bridges. However, we have to be accountable and that means not being offended by the point of view others hold. We don’t have to think like them to build a bridge.
Often times people think that harsh words are necessary when there’s a disagreement or a problem or conflict. However, understanding really is key. That means choosing your words wisely, carefully and thoughtfully.
Disagreements are inevitable, as there will always be differing views on situations. What really matters is how you handle the situation. Will this end your relationship with someone, will it become adversarial or will it become a relationship of mutual understanding and respect?
Choose your words wisely. How you speak to others has a lasting impact. You may not be able to heal every situation or resolve every conflict. You can still show up in a good way. You can choose words that reconcile, focus on solving problems and avoid making people feel personally attacked or diminished. Words are powerful, but you decide what impression your words will leave.
