Spiritual health is important. It’s important for our emotional wellbeing and physical well-being. Developing ourselves spiritually saves us from unnecessary suffering. It helps us to find happiness and also to set good boundaries. It teaches us to protect our peace and associate with like minded people.
We spend a lot of time working, going to school and developing ourselves academically. We are advised to find a career or to find employment. Society has a set of mandates we are told that we must adhere to.
Most people don’t spend much time developing themselves in the spiritual sense. Most people I meet will tell me that they are “religious”. I usually end up confused when people share their religious beliefs. I recently told an acquaintance that I had gone to a local Hindu Temple for lunch and she expressed disbelief.
The temple is open to the public and has a canteen in it that serves amazing South Indian food. She confided that in her religion, it was a sin to go to a Hindu temple. Again, I was a little confused by this and asked her to clarify. She said that because they worship many deity’s, her church views any participation with this religion as a sin. So in essence, I told her, your church is teaching separation.
Organized religion came about to control the masses. Our creator never intended for us to be punished or to suffer. Yet organized religion created a list of sins to keep people oppressed. Within many churches, worshipers are constantly told that they are sinner’s.
Who was Jesus? We know that he had a shining light around him. An aura that exuded love and light. I studied with a Wushu Master who believed that Jesus was a Qigong Master. Hence, I had to consider this.
We have all have seen art work that portrays Jesus. I know that every time he is depicted, he has a light emanating from his heart and mind. So it is possible that this is universal energy or life force discussed in spiritual practice.
The light around and inside of him came from him finding and connecting to his inner knowledge. Everything we need to know is inside of us.
Jesus was human. His light and healing ability came from developing himself spiritually. He developed his charecter spending time in prayer and surrounded himself with real people. He grew spiritually. So in reality, we all have that ability. He was the son of “God” but we are all sons and daughters of “God.” Therefore, in essence, we are all Jesus.
We have lost the ability to tap into our universal consciousness because we are focused on day-to-day living, material items, society’s demands, traditional forms of education and organized religion. So yes, many forgot who we really are. We are spiritual beings, just like Jesus was.
Therefore, if your name is Patricia or Mary or Henry or Sam, you can be Jesus too. We all have the potential to tap into the light within us and to shine as spiritual people.
The potential is there, it’s possible, but not typical. We are distracted by the demands and requirements of our society. It takes a lot of work, strength and effort to become a spiritual being.
A spiritual person or spiritual people will always stand out. Our society is designed to keep the masses fighting each other, competing against each other and divided. The masses have bought into these beliefs. They lost their connection to spirit.
This is why Jesus was persecuted. He was different, he of spoke healing and unity. He pointed out the corruption and inequity in society. He preached against the ruling class.
Jesus was brought down by the masses. The masses have always been removed from light. They are threatened by light. It takes courage to be a spiritual being, it takes strength. The masses are preoccupied by video games and online shopping.
Society teaches people that they need to depend on government, that they need guidance and rules. They are told that they must suffer while on earth.
They are told who to hate, who to make war with and how to create division. They are told they will be rewarded in the after life. That is man’s dialogue and preaching. That is man speaking and not “God”.
Within us is the potential to be great spiritual people. Organized religion does not focus on that belief, instead it says that we are shameful and sinful, that we must be punished or constantly ask for forgiveness or to redeem ourselves.
The greatest spiritual masters, have always known that teaching people to develop themselves spiritually, rather then religiously, helped people to do better.
Consequently, these people were not easily controlled or duped because they lived consciously. This is why societies do not like spiritual practice and why they seek to suppress it. This is why Jesus was crucified. He brought light to a dark world. We are Jesus.
