Fire is powerful. In a positive sense, it clears the way for rebirth, regrowth, transformation and represents the warmth of home. Fire brings light to the world. When we are out of balance, it is deadly. It will clear the path for renewal by destroying everything that caused imbalance.
As we watch the fires in California, we pray for all life. We pray for the humans, animals and plants that have been harmed. We see the fire out of control. Citizens affected in the area call the situation “apocalyptic”.
For the most part, people walk around with little understanding of our connection to each other and to the earth. We are connected to everything, yet a large percent of the world’s population are never taught this fact. Most people are not conscious of their connection to all living beings and to the natural world. When there is widespread disaster we are traumatized and deeply affected.
If you are sensitive to connection, you will pick up on other people’s energy. You may be perceptive. You can sense imbalance and perhaps even where it stems from. You can read intention and psyches connected to individuals. You are not surprised by their behaviors, good or bad, you see them as they are.
If you are outside, in the natural world, you may understand the signs of alignment and misalignment in nature. You may “feel” imbalance. You understand the signs the natural world shows us.
It is hard for us to admit to those things we overlook. We use excuses such as, we are busy and we have too much on our plate. Sadly, our oversights are usually related to important issues. We are conditioned to accept oversights as casualties of successful lives, collateral damage.
Our societies try to control nature. We re-route waterway’s, we mine deep into the earth and destroy natural areas. We aspire to control climate’s, animal habitats and natural environment’s.
Many people are unaware of natural law. They understand man made restrictions, money matters, social media and societal norms. They are detached from who we are and what we are really meant to be.
People are conditioned to disconnect. They separate themselves from each other. They separate based on income, color, gender, religion, politics, sports teams, outlook and occupation. They are indoctrinated to believe that people are “different”. Yet, we are not.
People are taught to choose sides. Someone must always be wrong. Adversarial concepts are encouraged, they dislike those who they deem “different”. They use derogatory names to degrade their enemies and expect to be called names back. They are conditioned to fight and separate. They learn to hate. They spend entire lifetimes learning and internalizing this behavior. They encourage others to join campaigns of hate.
Humans have lost their way. There is imbalance amongst people and in nature. Fires appearing in our cities are becoming a recurring theme, they call for our attention. We are “playing with fire”.
Balance, nature is saying, we need balance. When there is disorder, problems arise. People as well as natural areas are out of balance. We are not guaranteed unlimited time to understand the imbalances and to correct them
We can do better. That may look like living consciously and connecting to the earth and others in a good way. Mother Earth has to sustain us. In turn, we have to protect and sustain Mother Earth. We have to remember that our most important resource is each other. We have to take care of each other, we have to care for the earth. This is why we are here.
